finland (to be said like patrick star)

after sweden we hopped on a ferry aka a legitimate cruise ship to finland.
it made me want to go on a real week-long cruise.
maybe to somewhere warm. i would love to see some sun.
and my pasty white skin would probably enjoy it too.

anyways. we were only in finland for a few hours.
plus i was all sorts of sick and barfy the whole time we were there.
so unfortunately i didn't see as much as i wanted to.
but the small amount that i did see of helsinki was quite pleasant.

plus we ran into some missionaries, which was fun.
they seemed slightly relieved that they could just talk to us without trying to convert us.

i guess that i'll just have to go to finland again someday.
aw shucks.

sweden has my heart

our next stop after lithuania was sweden.

oh sweden. you have my heart.
i vow to return to sweden someday, preferably to live there.

the countryside was gorgeous, with these quaint little houses everywhere.
and stockholm.
i don't even know how to describe stockholm other than to say that i think i am in love with it.
there were these cutest design studios everywhere, the shopping was fantastic, and well-dressed and friendly people were aplenty.
my descriptions can't even do it justice.
so if you haven't been to sweden, you should probably go there right now.
or you can come visit me when i live there.

dear future husband

dear future husband:
it will be perfectly fine with me if you are this guy.

however, if you're not chace crawford i'm sure we'll probably figure something out.
and even if you don't look like him, you are allowed to have a voice like him.
that would be perfectly acceptable.

i'm done being creepy now.

lithuania...think less but see it grow

after spending a couple of days in riga we hopped on a very early bus to vilnius, lithuania.
my first impression was that it was very wet and slightly gloomy.
actually, that was pretty much my overall impression.
and the whole time i had this song in my head.

even though we were soggy the whole time, lithuania was such a pretty place.
it just felt so quaint and european.

my favorite moment in lithuania was while we were on top of the hill of castles.
to get to the top we climbed this big cobblestone hill,
side note: those poor people in the olden days. that cobblestone is not easy to walk on.
with crows cawing, and rain pouring, and only one other lady in sight.
at first we were slightly creeped out because it felt a little bit shutter island-esque.
but we got to the top and you could see all of lithuania.
it was such a neat sight.
it was another one of those times where i just had to take a moment and soak it all in and realize what a good life i have.
